2013 is here and the world didn’t end so its time to look back at goals I made for the year and see how I did. Not to happy as there are many misses. I can blame a lot of it on health issues this year and I hope I have those under control and have a better 2013.
Investment portfolio over 30k. Currently I stand at about 20k. with a max IRA contribution, some good amounts to the buy and hold account, dividends and capital gains, and a bit of luck in the markets I think this is very achievable. Short by just $500 so Im going to put this in the win column anyway!
Out of Credit Card Debt. I have one credit card debt left, as of today about $8.5K. I have been putting as much extra I can towards principal each month trying for at least $1k a month. Fallen a little short last 2 months but the goal is to have it done by June this year but as long as its gone this year I’ll be happy. Yeah not so much. Actually went backwards a bit. Try again this year.
Average $11k a month from the studio. My comfy level has been about 8-9k a month. If I gross that it should cover all expenses, business and personal. I think I averaged about 10k a month last year (haven’t completed the financials yet) and would like to get that up a little more. Nope, total income averages just over $10k a month.
Average 15 regular sessions a month. I have mini sessions and this year will be starting a new budget line session, don’t want to count them (maybe 2 or 3 of these equals a regular session) but would like to have 15 regular sessions a month. With that I should do well. Just missed this one as well, averaging 14 sessions a month
Secondary Income average $1k a month. This will include income from sources such as Amazon, Adsense, advertising, affiliates and so forth. Last year it bounced around $300-500 and would really like to see it get up to that 1K mark. not so much here either.
Adsense Income to $100 a month. This would help greatly with the above goal. Last month for the first time I broke the $30 a month mark and seems that things are going well. Main reason I would like to get it to $100 a month is thats the level you need for payment and it would be nice for cash-flow to see payment each month instead of waiting. To get there I will be fine tune the sites I have and add to the portfolio while keeping the costs down. This is a joke.
Net Worth Over $85K. Currently Im at about $65K here. I figure if I add $10k to the investment portfolio and Im knocking out $10k of debt this should be very attainable. The only question mark is that we are considering trying to refinance the house to get it to 4% (currently at 6%) and if so we may take out $5-10K to help with house projects and sons college expenses. This was the big winner as net worth ended at $115,581. Main reasons for this was house value actually going up the last half of the year and my automated savings. Sad part is a big chunk will go away April 15th.
Walking 4 to 5 times a week. I have to get back in to my walking routine where I do my 2-5 mi walks at least 5 times a week. I would also like one of them to be the Cowels Mtn hike. Once I get going on this I would like to once a month do Mt Woodson or Iron Mtn. This one is mixed but ill count it half way. Most of the year I was doing quite well but when the hot days hit It came to a halt and have been slow to get back into it with the time change.
Gym 1 to 2 times a week. Like above to get back healthy i need to do the gym once or twice a week to keep the muscles in shape. Actually cancelled the gym membership. We have made progress on the family room (garage) where we have a treadmill and some weights. Once complete i’ll get a bench as well and start up again at home. No really I will.
Bathroom Remodel. Complete the Bathroom remodel by end of March without using any credit! No credit used but bathroom is only halfway done. At least I have a goal for next year!
Whole Foods Lifestyle. This may be more of a resolution but I’m putting it here. I know when I started this last May I felt so much better. Eating 75% or more fresh whole foods instead of processed meals. Last couple months I have fallen to the old ways a bit, even having a few to many starbucks this last month and I feel the difference. Im counting this as a win. Most of the year I have been really good. Fell off the wagon a bit since November, I’m blaming the holidays!
Well thats how I did on last years goals. Not so well overall. To keep this post short I’ll be doing my 2013 goals in a separate post in the next couple days.
How did you do with your 2012 goals?
